ANCOP Walk
Faith in Action
The ANCOP Walk is a global annual event of ANCOP that raises funds for its SHELTER, CHILD SPONSORSHIP, and HUMANITARIAN RELIEF programs. It is faith in action! Individuals and groups participate in the walk, generously giving donations and helping solicit funds for ANCOP. Kids, youth, adults and seniors join together to walk for the poor and rally the public to support the cause.
How does it work?
ANCOP Walk participants should be registered and pay the US$35 registration fee for adult (US$25 for students 13-18 years of age), The $5 P the registration fee is automatically allocated to the benefit of St. Vincent de Paul Society - outreach to the poor.
Upon registration, participants can start soliciting sponsors and collecting pledges in support of their participation using the ANCOP Walk pledge forms that you can request from any ANCOP officers. To avoid unauthorized solicitation make sure that your registration number is indicated in the pledge form. We request that you return any unused printed forms to any ANCOP Officers.
Each participant can choose who will be the beneficiary of the funds that they will raise among the beneficiaries below:
• ANCOP Child Sponsorship Program
a project that sponsor a child in need of education. The ANCOP Child Sponsorship Program is a one-to-one sponsor-to-scholar connection that offers a comprehensive program benefit package that includes education, healthcare, and socio-cultural-spiritual Development for sponsored children and their parents.
• The Passionist Missions
The Passionists is an international Catholic Congregation of religious Brothers and Priests. ANCOP supports the Passionists in the Philippines through its various charitable programs across the Philippines focusing on social development, education, and pastoral care.
• St. Vincent de Paul Society
The St. Vincent de Paul Society is a recognized Catholic Charity in the Diocese of Hamilton in Bermuda. It provides assistance to people in need, regardless of their religion, background or circumstances. Their "Feeding of the Homeless" program happens every Sunday at the St. Theresa's cathedral in Hamilton.
How much do I need to raise?
We encourage you to set yourself a personal target. That's the great thing! Every amount you raise goes to your credit. You can also set up specific targets as follows:
US $384 sponsors a child's education for a year
US $3,840 sponsor a batch of 10 children's education
If you need help in setting up your target, speak to any ANCOP Bermuda officers.
Who can take part in the Walk?
The walk is open to everyone. You must also be up for the challenge of walking 5 kilometres or so, and willing to help to generate resources for your sponsorship. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
